Special TCC Seminar A Weak Lensing Study of the Coma Cluster, and a Higher-Order Moment Approach to Weak Lensing [abstract] I would like to talk about two things in weak lensing studies done by our group
at Tohoku University. One is a weak lensing study of Dark Matter (DM)
substructures in the Coma cluster. This is a preliminary study aimed at
the statistical study of DM substructures in galaxy clusters using the
Hyper Suprime Camera (HSC:our next prime focus camera on the Subaru Telescope,
which has a 10 times as wide Field of view of the present prime focus camera).
I will give a short explanation of observation plans for the HSC.
Next I would like to talk about our recent approach to higher order
weak lensing analysis, which uses the higher multipole moments of
background galaxies. I will explain this method (we call it the HOLICs
approach) in detail and its application to the compact massive cluster Abell
